What is a resume?
CV (Curriculum Vitae) means “life career” in Latin. A poetic way of designating “the file containing all the information concerning the civil status of a candidate for a position, his diplomas, his professional experience, etc.”, according to the definition of the French dictionary Larousse.
Essential element of any job search, the curriculum vitae must inform the employer about your profile, your skills and your background. And faced with the competition of many candidates who apply for the same jobs, it is important to have an attractive CV to stand out and catch the eye of recruiters!
The primary goal of the CV is to highlight your qualities, skills, and strengths and to mitigate your weak points or mishaps as much as possible. Indeed, the curriculum vitae must show the best of your personality and your skills in order to appear as the ideal candidate in the eyes of recruiters! It must therefore give a positive image of your application.
Of course there is no "law" that requires you to have a CV, but getting a job without one is almost mission impossible! Even if someone recommends you to a recruiter, for example, they will probably ask you for your CV to get an idea of your background and skills. Having a CV is therefore absolutely essential! Also remember to keep your CV up to date so that it always contains your latest work experience or training. It is therefore important to always read it again before sending it to a recruiter, to be sure that you have not forgotten anything!
How to make a CV?
You have seen or heard of a position becoming available in a company: that's good, it's exactly the job you've always dreamed of and/or the company where you've always wanted to work. So you want to respond to this job offer! To contact the recruiter and show him that you are the ideal candidate for this position, you need a CV. This document will indeed allow him to know in one or two pages your qualities, experiences and skills. It will also give them the opportunity to compare your application – and its strengths – to those of other candidates. The CV must therefore show recruiters what you will be able to bring to the company! So it's time to make your resume. The CV can be created on a word processing software or on a CV generator,
